Why a specific racket for juniors?
It's crucial not to equip a child with an adult racket, even a light one. The junior padel racket is designed to suit the body shape of young players who are growing and to prevent injuries (wrist, elbow) through three main features:
1. A lightweight and low balance
Junior rackets generally weigh between 300g and 340g. This reduced weight allows for extreme maneuverability, which is essential for children to swing their shots properly and react quickly without straining their joints.
2. A suitable thickness and size
While adults play with 38mm rackets, some rackets for younger players (under 8-10 years old) have a thinner profile (33mm to 36mm) to make it easier to grip. The handle is also thinner and shorter to fit little hands.
3. Flexible materials for learning
Most children's models prioritize fibreglass and "Soft" rubbers. This ensures a great ball exit (like a trampoline) without the child needing to hit hard, while absorbing maximum vibrations.
